2025 Adjudicator - Julia Dark

Julia began her training in Swansea south Wales before pursuing a BA(HONS) in performing arts (Dance) from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) Post-graduation, Julia has built a diverse and extensive career in performing and choreography, spanning across TV, film, and theatre. Julia was principal dancer for Colision Dance Company and North West Opera as well as choreographer for TV idents, Musical theatre productions and contemporary dance companies.

 

Julia holds QTS and currently works as a teacher and choreographer at The BRIT School where many of her students are now working professionally in the industry. Driven by a passion for technical and artistic development Julia delivers classes across a wide range of genres, has curated a range of captivating productions and tailored bespoke works for corporate clients and the school's industry partners. She has demonstrated success in creative advancement, effective teaching and learning methods, establishing and strengthening industry connections, curriculum design and delivery, as well as fostering the growth, development and promotion of boys in dance.

 

Julia is the Artistic Director of Khronos Dance, a collective of youth dance companies providing creative and performance opportunities within a secure and supportive environment for both young men and women. The collective has achieved significant success, participating in notable events such as the Youth Commonwealth Dance Festival, Britain's Got Talent, Fresh, and Move It.

 

Being an expert in boys' dance, Julia is dedicated to challenging societal stereotypes associated with male dancers. Her ongoing enthusiasm drives her efforts to inspire and motivate the next generation of young men to pursue careers in the dance industry.
